Description
Black cat loves the work of Wassily Kandinsky, so when the art museum near him was hosting an exhibit, he raced right over. This painting is one of his favorites, titled, "Swinging" (also known as Schaukeln). It was painted in 1925. Kandinsky was a Russian painter and is generally credited as one of the pioneers of abstraction in western art.
I personally own five of Kandinsky's designs and love them. So did my grandson, Landon. When he was a baby my husband would carry him around when a crying spell came on, and when he would stand in front of one of the Kandinsky pieces hanging on the wall Landon would instantly stop crying and stare at the piece! I think the color and shapes fascinated him. I no longer display any of the Kandinskys since moving to this current house but they are safely stored away for when Landon grows up and has his own place. He is happy I am saving them for him!
