Mixed media using watercolors titled Homage to Matisse on Blue. After Henri Matisse had surgery for his abdominal cancer he could no longer do his painting or sculpting. He was confined to his chair and bed, so he turned to a new art form, cutting out shapes to create cut paper collages. These shapes (what would you call them?) are some of his most recognizable. I find them fascinating myself, and enjoy working with them to create unique abstract designs such as this one.
