Description
Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer, do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage. I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet, upon the seat, of a bicycle built for two!
That song transports me back in time to the late 60s. I'm at a Dude Ranch in Bandera, Texas with my mother and sisters for our annual vacation. It's Friday evening and all the families have met down near the Medina River for the weekly Weenie Roast. We'd bend coat hangers out straight and stick our hot dogs on the end to hold them over an enormous campfire. It wasn't uncommon to burn your hot dog wiener since the fire was so blazin' hot we all turned our faces away, which meant not keeping a close eye on our food. After the meal we'd gather around Art, the owner of the Dude Ranch, and he'd strum his guitar and we'd all sing old songs together. Bicycle Built for Two was one those songs. Let Me Call You Sweetheart was another. Happy memories!!
This mid century inspired watercolor painting of black ink line daisies and ovals in blue, purple and bluegreen was created while participating in an art Challenge with other artists here at Fineartamerica. Our goal is to create a brand new piece of art each day for six days straight. The theme for this Challenge is the color BLUE. This is Day 5.
