Description
Here's a happy pelican, sitting contentedly on the pier waiting for his next meal to come along. Pelicans frequent inland and coastal waters, where they feed primarily on fish, catching them at or near the water's surface. I love these gregarious birds. They travel in flocks, hunt cooperatively and breed in colonies.
This ink and watercolor painting is inspired by my love of pelicans. He sits on the pier looking out at a blue green ocean under a mostly clear blue sky.
I am participating in a 7 day Challenge with other artists here on FAA. The theme for the Challenge is to create a piece of artwork with a LIQUID in it, for seven straight days This piece is my Day 3.
