Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan, standing 3,776.24 m (12,389.2 ft). It is located about 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Tokyo and is visible from there on clear days. Mount Fuji's symmetrical cone, which is covered in snow for about five months of the year, is commonly used as a cultural icon of Japan. I've created this watercolor painting for a three day Challenge here at Fineartamerica that I'm participating in. The theme is PERSPECTIVE. Today I wanted to create something using the technique of aerial perspective, also referred to as atmospheric perspective. In art, especially painting, aerial perspective creates an illusion of depth by depicting distant objects as paler, less detailed, and usually bluer than nearer objects. The technique was introduced by Leonardo da Vinci. This is my day 3 submission.
