My black cat loves the Christmas season, especially Advent when his owners light a candle each night. They begin with lighting one, then a second and so forth until Christmas day when all five candles are lit and it is a beautiful sight to behold! Design copyright Donna Mibus. This wreath is just like the one my husband and I use each Advent. I miss the days when my children were young and still living at home. Lighting the candles was always something they loved to do. One lit them and the other snuffed them out. While the candles burned we would have our devotion and read the account of the first Christmas from the Bible. I have such wonderful memories of those times!
Here is an explanation how we use our Advent wreath:
The first candle is lit on the First Sunday in Advent; and an additional candle is lit on each successive Sunday. The first candle is the Prophecy Candle, recalling the Old Testament period of waiting. The second candle is the Bethlehem Candle, symbolic of the...
