Description
This design brings back happy memories for me. When my dog Benji was alive we had three dogs - him, Tootsie and Waffles. We pretty much had the two girls, Waffles and Tootsie, trained to sleep in their dog beds, which were right at the foot of our bed atop two ottomans, so they were actually level with our bed. Benji always had to sleep by me, so he was on the big bed. BUT, it didn't always stay that way! Especially on stormy nights when there was rain and thunder. The two girls were always welcome to join us in our bed, which they did on those nights. My husband and I slid to the very outer edges so the three dogs could fit in the middle. The next morning we were always a bit tired from not getting enough good sleep. At church one morning, after sleeping with all three in the bed with us, I told my friend about it and said, "We had a three dog night!" We both chuckled, and that term stayed with us. After sleeping all five to a bed we would smile at each other and say, "another three dog night!". Three Dog Night was a hugely popular rock band in the late 60s and 70s. I loved them back then and I still love their songs and happily sing aloud to them in the car when I hear them. Never thought I'd experience a "three dog night" in real life. Happy times indeed!
